Obagi has worked better for me than other skin care products because it encapsulates a complete regime. While it is expensive, it doesn't really cost more than the hodgepodge of other products I was using before. The Oabgi system can really be broken down into 5 parts:

PREPARE: First, you cleanse and tone your skin to make it more receptive to the correction step. Wash your face with either the Obagi Gentle Cleanser or Foaming Gel, rinse with lukewarm water and gentle pat dry.

CORRECT: Next you repair the damage to the surface of the skin, correcting hyper pigmentation, uneven skin tone and smoothing skin roughness. Use Obagi clear and Obagi Exfoderm forte for this step.

STIMULATE: This helps to repair damage to the deeper layers of the skin. It restores skin elasticity by enhancing the production of collagen and elastin. This is where you use Obagi blender.

PROTECT: This further protects against damage from harmful UVA and UVB rays; - this is where you need the Obagi Sunfader.

CONTROL: This moisturizing product helps alleviate the dryness or sensitivity that sometimes occurs at the beginning of treatment.

MAINTENANCE PHASE: Once the desired results have been achieved, a maintenance program is described in the Obagi Nu-Derm booklet "Personal Guide to Skin Health."
